Department of Electonics

Department of Electronics was established in the year 1985-86 being as a part of the Physics Department offering B Sc with PME (Physics, Mathematics, and Electronics) combination to impart basic science to the students of rural and backward areas of this region. UGC has funded Rs.37.5 Lack for the modernization of existing Electronics Laboratory in the year 1994. In the same year department got grant in aid, and bifurcated from Physics Department and established as independent department. Over the years the department has established as a centre of higher learning promoting teaching and research. Department is striving to impart the knowledge of Electronics at UG level. The department has well furnished laboratory and advanced equipments with internet facility.

The faculty members are carrying out research works in many frontier areas which includes, active filter designing, antenna studies and material science. Several research papers have been published in various national & international journals apart from research paper presentations across the globe. The class room teaching is made interactive by using various methods of teaching and learning which includes presentations, use of software simulators, etc. In order to develop the practical skills in the students, the class room teaching is well supported by rigorous practical training conducted in the well equipped laboratories. The department has also been actively organizing guest lecturers, workshops, exhibitions, quiz programs, industry visits etc. in order to achieveelectronics all round development of students through association activities.

• Completed one VGST student research project titled “Production and optimisation of Biodiesel from different oils ” during the year 2012-13.

• Thirteen Guest lecturers were organized for Electronics students by inviting eminent personalities in the respective field.

Future Plans of the Department:

• One day workshop by students on Satellite communication.

• Planning to invite resource persons to deliver series lectures on recent developments in Electronics.

• Planning to visit/trip to best Indian Research Centers across the India.

Staff members of Physics are involved in research in the areas of Dielectric relaxation studies using, Ultrasonic studies, Active filters etc. Three minor research projects funded by UGC have been completed and two more MRP’s of total outlay (Rs.3.43lakh) are in progress.In the last five years faculty of the department have
